The Bajocian-Bathonian Key Section from the Malyj Kamennyj Gully (the North of the Volgograd Region)

The following sequence from the Kamennyj gully (Volgograd Region) has been shown to occur in the section, upwards from below: a sand member as the lower portion of the Late Bajocian alluvial Gnilushkinskaya suite; the upper (clayey) part of the overlying littoral Karaulinskaya suite, referred to the Upper Bajocian Pseudocosmoceras michalskii biozone; fragments of a complete section of the Lower Bathonian Zhirnovskaya suite (Gonolkites convergens zone), with the clays deposited under the normal shallow sea conditions; the upper part of the Middle Batho

Bio-, Magneto and cyclostratigraphy of upper Berriasian near v. Alexeevka (Belogorskiy Region, Republic of Crimea). Article 1. Ammonites. Magnetostratigraphy. Cyclostratigraphy

The results bio-, magnetostratigraphic, cyclostratigraphic, lithological and mineralogic studies of the upper part of Sultanovskaya formation and Zelenogorskaya formation near v. Alexeevka (Belogorskiy region of Crimea) were presented in current work. The results of lithological and mineralogic analysis argues for the stratigraphic break between “Sultanovskaya” formation and “Zelenogorskaya” formation and implicitly indicate the age of the sediments as late berriasian.

First Magnetostratigraphic Data on the Maastrihtian of Mountain Crimea (Bakhchysarai Region)

The representative data about magnetic susceptibility, its anisotropy before and after heating up to 500°C and other petromagnetic characteristics were received on two sections of carbonate sediments of Maastrihtian – Chahmahly and Takma, located in Bakhchysarai region of the Republic of Crimea. In the studied sections there were established the magnetozones of normal and anomalous polarity, the comparison of determined zones with Geomagnetic Polarity Time Scale was conducted.

The Reversal Polarity Zone in Turonian-Coniacian of the Northern End of DonoMedvediza Dislocations

The Gubkino Horizon (Turonian-Coniacian) in the Bolshoy Kamenny ovrag section (Zhirnovsk town, Volgograd Region) has not been purposefully studied so far. As a result of biostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic researches the carbonate rocks of the Gubkino Horizon were first divided into zones based on benthic foraminifera complexes and characterized by geomagnetic polarity and rock-magnetism data. The most part of the Bolshoy Kamenny ovrag section is covered by the reverse polarity zone.

Magnetostratigraphy of Turonian – Santonian strata on the Samara Right Bank

The paper presents the results of petro- and paleomagnetic studies of two sections of Turonian – Santonian on the Samara Right Bank – near Novodevichye, Podval’e villages and detailed geological description of the Novodevichye section. The magnetostratigraphic subdivision and detailed correlation of the sections were carried out. Unknown unconformity in the Podval’e section was recognized.

Results of the reconnaissance magnetostratigraphic studies of Paleocene in the southern part of the Saratov right bank

The results of rock-magnetic and paleomagnetic studies of two sections of the Lower Syzran subformation (Paleocene) of the Saratov Right Bank – the Syrt Mountain (Nizhnyaya Bannovka village) and Lysaya Gora (Saratov city) are presented. For the first time the possibility of obtaining paleomagnetic data on the Paleocene of the Volga region and their use for magnetostratigraphic purposes despite the partial remagnetization of rocks has been established.
