Results of magnetostratigraphic study of the Lower Syzran subformation (Paleocene) in the north of the Saratov Right Bank (Gremyachka and Kluchy-2 sections)

The results of petromagnetic and paleomagnetic studies of two sections of the Lower Syzran subformation (Paleocene) – Gremyachka and Klyuchi-2, located in the north of the Saratov Right Bank and represented by weakly magnetic silicites, are presented. Paleomagnetic data on sections, despite their low quality and fragmentation, are important for magnetostratigraphy, because they confirm the presence of a reverse polarity magnetozone (analogous to chron C27r and/or C26r) in the Lower Syzran subformation and its lateral stability.

Petromagnetic Indicators of Layers with High Concentration of Cosmogenic Substance in Maastrichtian of Volga Region and Cis-Caspian Region

The level with anomalous high values of natural remanent magnetization and Koenigsberger ratios was identify in the Upper Maastrichtian of Vol’sk depression (Saratov Volga Region). The microprobe studies of samples from this layer registered elevated concentrations of microparticles of iron, nickel, intermetallics and magnetite spherules of cosmic genesis. Similar petromagnetic anomaly was detect in the uppermost of Maastrichtian in the South Cis-Caspian (Aktolagay Plateau, Kazakhstan).

Experience of Cyclostratigraphic Analysis of Petromagnetic Data on the Turonian–Maastrihtian Section «Nizhnyaya Bannovka» (Volga River Right Bank, Southern Saratov Region)

On the base of spectral Fourier analysis of magnetic susceptibility time series of nearly 10 000 measurements of rock samples in the turonian-maastrihtian sediments, exposed near Nizhnyaya Bannovka village (Volga River Right Bank, Southern Saratov Region) there were detected long and short eccentricity cycles. Petromagnetic variations, correlated with different variants of eustatic curves detected the presence of well known sequences.

About Possible Reflexion of Paleocological Conditions in Petromagnesism of Kallovian - Oxfordian Deposits of Dubki Section (Saratov)

As a result of the complex analysis of petromagnetic, micro- and macrofaunistic data of deposits on the Kallovian – Oxfordian boundary of Dubki section (Saratov), which is one of candidates for a role of a Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point of Oxfordian boundary (GSSP), it is established significant correlation between magnetic susceptibility variations and changes of an abundance, a specific variety of ostracodes, foraminiferes and ammonites.

Petromagnetic Effect of an unsoluble residue distribution in the sylvinite Layer Section of the Gremyachinskoe Deposit

The article presents results of the detailed petromagnetic analysis of the core samples of the potassium salts of the Kungurian potassium salt complex in the Gremyachinskoe deposit (Volgograd region), which allowed for obtaining additional information on the stratigraphic rhythmicity and for substantiating the correlation levels.

Peculiarities of Formation of Anthropogenic Hydrochemical Anomalies in Groundwater within the Oil and Gas Fields

During long-term operation of oil and gas fields in the groundwater on their territory are formed hydrogeochemical anomalies expressed primarily chlorellaman type chemical composition, typical of the zone of active water exchange. The formation of the chemical composition of groundwater is influenced by many factors, both natural and manmade.

Cyclostratigraphic Analysis of the Rock Magnetic Data on Maastrichtian of the Bodrak River (SW Crimea)

Measurements of mass magnetic susceptibility of 2 232 samples, collected in Takma and Chakhmakhly sections (SW Crimea, Bodrak river) through every 20 cm of thickness were conducted. The cycles, supposedly corresponding to the periods of long and short eccentricities of Earth orbit and its axis obliquity were detected by Fourier transform and wavelet analysis of obtained data. The average sedimentation rate (11.7 cm/kyr) was calculated.

The Reversal Polarity Zone in Turonian-Coniacian of the Northern End of DonoMedvediza Dislocations

The Gubkino Horizon (Turonian-Coniacian) in the Bolshoy Kamenny ovrag section (Zhirnovsk town, Volgograd Region) has not been purposefully studied so far. As a result of biostratigraphic and magnetostratigraphic researches the carbonate rocks of the Gubkino Horizon were first divided into zones based on benthic foraminifera complexes and characterized by geomagnetic polarity and rock-magnetism data. The most part of the Bolshoy Kamenny ovrag section is covered by the reverse polarity zone.

Magnetostratigraphy of Turonian – Santonian strata on the Samara Right Bank

The paper presents the results of petro- and paleomagnetic studies of two sections of Turonian – Santonian on the Samara Right Bank – near Novodevichye, Podval’e villages and detailed geological description of the Novodevichye section. The magnetostratigraphic subdivision and detailed correlation of the sections were carried out. Unknown unconformity in the Podval’e section was recognized.
