Some Challenges in Provision of Safety of Human Resources in Saratov Region

Studies of demographic structure of population, migration patterns, intraregional differences in population age structure, and tracking of socio-economic rating of the region provide a basis to conclude that the is an emerging labor resource problem, define its causes, and solutions to labor resource security.

Concept of Demographic Policy-2025 and Demographic Situation in the Volga Federal District

The article describes preliminary results of the second phase of the Demographic Policy Convention of the Russian Federation for the period until 2025. The demographic situation of 2010–2015 is considered on the example of the Volga Federal District. Particular attention is paid to changes in the demographic situation in the Saratov region. The article highlights the positive changes that have occurred in 2010–2015. The article formulates aims for the third phase – 2016–2025.

Interregional Migration in Modern Russia (Territorial Dimension)

The article analyzes the migration processes in modern Russia, particularly, the distribution of migration flows within the country, both in federal district and in regional contexts. Using cluster analysis highlighted groups (clusters) of regions with the closest indicators of migration flow directions and migrants’ quality characteristics (level of education).

Changes in the Ethnic Heterogeneity of the Volga Federal District

The article discusses changes in the ethnic diversity of regions of the Volga Federal District for the period of 1989–2010. The most and least ethnically heterogeneous regions are revealed. There is a growing heterogeneity in some regions. The article describes settlement of Russians throughout the subjects of the Volga Federal District. The changes in the urbanization of ethnic groups are shown.

Analysis of the Factors of Migration Attractiveness of the Volga Federal District Regions

The article compares the significance of the factors of migration attractiveness of the Russian regions on the example of the Volga Federal District (VFD). It is shown that for a short period (2012–2015), there was a significant decrease in the number of factors attracting migrants, at the same time, migration situation in the VFD regions has also changed, sometimes drastically. The study was carried out using multivariate linear regression analysis.
